Mid-American Guitar Ensemble Festival (MAGEF) Opening Concert
Guitar ensembles from colleges and universities throughout mid-America gather annually for this exciting festival. Host to the Mid-America Guitar Ensemble Festival in 2007, IPFW is thrilled to have this fine gathering of excellent musicians once again on our campus. The Friday evening concert will feature several festival ensembles and highlight their unique repertoire.
Friday, March 27 7:30 p.m.

MAGEF Featured Concert - The Canadian Guitar Quartet
Since its debut in 1999, the Canadian Guitar Quartet (CGQ) has garnered a reputation as one of the finest guitar ensembles in the world. CGQ, the featured guest ensemble for the guitar festival, has made appearances around the world. Guitarists include Julien Bisaillon, Renaud Côté-Giguère, Bruno Roussel, and Louis Trépanier. “The Canadian Guitar Quartet tackles all with great brilliance and an optimal mastery of their instruments … thereby confirming a secure musical reality of international dimension.” - GuitArt magazine – Italy.
Saturday, March 28 7:30 p.m.

MAGEF Festival Orchestra Ensemble Concert
With so many universities’ guitar ensembles attending MAGEF, it takes two entire concerts to feature them all! This final concert will conclude with the Festival Guitar Orchestra, comprised of more than 120 guitars performing the premier of Thunder and Strums by Patrick Roux. Thunder and Strums was commissioned by the festival for this event.
Sunday, March 29 1:00 p.m.
