The Department of Music will highlight IPFW’s 50th Celebration with exciting music for piano ensemble, featuring 4 to 50 hands playing together. Highlights of the program include Gioachino Rossini’s Semiramide overture arranged for 32 hands (8 pianos, 16 pianists) by Beethoven’s pupil, Carl Czerny; Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance in an arrangement for multiple pianos and pianists; Copland’s Hoe Down; and a number of other works for various “hand” combinations. The concert will bring together music faculty, students, and alumni, as well as special guests among them Chancellor Vicky Carwein and former Director of Keyboard Studies, Masson Robertson. This will be a memorable event not to be missed!
