Purdue Horticulture Extension Educator, Ricky Kemery, will present five “Garden Basics” seminars at area library branches and the Allen County Extension Office this spring. The seminars will focus on perennials, vegetables, trees, and invasive plants.
Ricky writes feature articles for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and Fort Wayne Magazine, appears weekly on WBNI, WBOI and WGL radio stations, and appears on Rick Wolfe’s “House Calls” radio program. After the seminars, Ricky will answer general gardening questions from attendees, and diagnose samples of plants with disease or insect problems. Free to the public, no rsvp required.

Monday, April 14th Aboite Library Branch 6:00-7:00 PM: “The Realistic Perennial Garden”

Saturday, April 26th, Allen County Extension Office, 10:00 - 11:00 AM, “Backyard Invaders- Dealing with Invasive Plants”

Monday, April 28th, Pontiac Branch Library 6:30 -7:30 PM “Growing Healthy and Nutritious Vegetables the Organic Way”

Saturday, May 3rd, Allen County Extension Office, 10:00 - 11:00 AM “Selecting, Planning, and Caring for Trees, the Right Way”

Monday, May 5th, Shawnee Library Branch, 6:30 - 7:30 PM “Growing Unusual Veggies”
