The Junior League of Fort Wayne Spring New Member Cohort is partnering with Boys and Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne to hold a career fair for middle school girls. Approximately 30 girls, aged 12-15, will have the opportunity to explore a variety of careers this Wednesday, April 13 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the Fairfield Club (2609 Fairfield Avenue).
Attendees will spend time interacting with women in professions that may interest them. The Junior League volunteers are professional women in a variety of careers that include a lawyer, massage therapist, chiropractor, professor, entrepreneur, information technology and marketing. The girls will have the opportunity to speak with representatives of each field about their profession, educational requirements and future opportunities.
The career fair is part of a career & college readiness program that is one of the programs focusing on Academic Success. Boys & Girls Clubs of Fort Wayne programs provide emphasis in 3 areas: academic success, good character & citizenship, and healthy lifestyle choices. Supporting members in their education and helping them develop life and character skills are key in accomplishing the Club mission to inspire members to reach their full potential, as they grow into adulthood. Educating and encouraging young girls about their future career options furthers the Junior League of Fort Wayne’s vision to build a better future for women and children.
