Fort Wayne Derby Girls are back in the Fort on February 20th, where internationally ranked All Star Bomb Squad will take on the Derby City Roller Girls from Louisville, KY at 6:00pm. Doors will open at 5:00pm at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum. The night will conclude with the internationally ranked Ft. Wayne Derby Brats (Junior Team) taking on River City Junior Roller Derby team.
Partial proceeds from the night will benefit The American Society for Suicide Prevention. This non-profit organization raises awareness, funds scientific research and provides resources and aid to those affected by suicide. Its mission is to Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide. For more information visit: www.afsp.org.
All bouts are family-friendly events, and the FWDG Kids Zone is back by popular demand for the 2016 season. Everyone is invited to participate in the great roller derby action.
Tickets are $12 at the Coliseum Box Office. Discounted tickets are available for $7 for children (5-12) and $9 for military, seniors (65+) and college students with an ID. Children under 5 receive free admission. Tickets are also available at Ticketmaster.com for an additional fee. Tickets provide general admission and seats will be available on a first-come, first served basis.
Directly after the event, stop by Wrigley Field Bar & Grill at 6527 E. State Blvd., Fort Wayne, to help the Fort Wayne Derby Girls continue to celebrate their eleventh season. Everyone 21+ is welcome to attend the after-party to meet and mingle with both returning and new Fort Wayne Derby Girl skaters.
