The First Presbyterian Church of Van Wert is pleased to announce that Celina native, Miss Hannah Stroth will present a vocal recital in the church sanctuary on Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 5:00 in the evening.

Musical selections will include: Puccini’s “O Mio Babbino Caro” from the opera “Gianni Schicchi”, “Il Mio Bel Foco”, by Marcello, and Stradella’s “Pieta, Signore”. Also performed will be Gian Carlo Menotti’s comic, one act opera, “The Telephone” with baritone, Skyler Whitaker, Adophe Adam’s “Ah, Vous Dirai-Je Maman” accompanied by Diane Cattran, flautist and a duet with Mr. Bryan Stroth entitled, “The Prayer”.

Miss Stroth is a 2014 graduate of Celina High School and has been accepted to Bowling Green State University for vocal music performance studying with Ms. Myra Merritt. While in high school, Hannah was one of 160 singers to be chosen from over 800 applicants to perform in the OMEA All State Honor Choir in 2014. She was a participant in the OMEA Honors Festival for six years and a member of the Celina High School Choir and Band for eight years. Hannah has been involved in plays and musicals since early childhood and was involved in Celina High School’s theatre program. Some of her recent rolls include chorus in “Once Upon a Mattress”, the beggar woman in “Sweeney Todd”, a soloist and chorus member in “Grease” and Gingy & The Sugarplum Fairy in “Shrek”. She is involved in her church youth group and music team, plays percussion, guitar and piano and is employed at Pullman Bay in Celina. She is the daughter of Bryan and Becky Stroth.

Also performing in concert with Miss Stroth will be: David Van Tilburg – accompanist, baritone, Skyler Whitaker, flautist, Diane Cattran, clarinetist, Blaze Andrew and Chris Cowdery, pianist.

The recital is free and open to the public.
