WHITLEY COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Patricia Mossburg heads up the Salvation Army in Whitley County.
She helps with the county's Toys for Tots program.
She organizes coat and school supply drives and sets up a candlelight vigil each year to remember young victims of neglect.
She spends many hours at work and on her own to see to it that people in need, especially children, are not forgotten.
Her husband nominated her, calling her kind, special, wonderful and caring.
Todd Mossburg said, "She really cares about the people and the job that she does. She just does the best she can with what she's got, and if she could only get more help and more funds, then she could do even more."
Linda asked Patricia, "When someone says thank you for touching my heart, how does that make your heart feel?"
Patrica Mossburg said, "Amazing, absolutely amazing. When I think about the people working in the room on the toys and the one gal helping me out in my office, those are the angels! The economy the way it is, there's families now that are not going to be able to have Christmas for their kids, so I team with Toys for Tots so we can get them toys and with Eagle Quest Church to provide Angel Food Baskets, a basket of food."
Patrica will tell you she gets the most enjoyment from seeing someone who received help in the past find the opportunity to pay it forward.
And, Patricia is asking people to call (260) 248-1711 with concerns or perhaps time to volunteer or the funds to help someone.
We hope viewers will continue to go to our website to nominate Angels Among Us.
